Hong Chi Marching Band


Founded in April 2010, the Hong Chi Adult Marching Band of the Hong Chi District Support Centre (Kwun Tong West) is the first marching band in Hong Kong established specially for People with intellectual disabilities (PiDs). 

It aims to provide ongoing opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities (PiDs) to develop their musical talents and showcase their artistic abilities after graduating from special schools, as they transition to employment or vocational training. The band also promotes teamwork, strengthens interpersonal skills, and enhance confidence. Since its establishment, the band has actively participated in numerous public performances and marching band competitions across Hong Kong, highlighting the achievements of its members while fostering social inclusion and community engagement.


Hong Chi Association, founded in 1965, has grown into one of the most well-established non-profit organisations dedicated solely to serving over 9,800 people of all ages and all levels of intellectual disability and their families in Hong Kong. It operates 106 service units to provide comprehensive services.
