Charmaine Siu-Man Wong


Pipa virtuoso Charmaine Siu-Man Wong is renowned as a “messenger of passion” for her glamorous, dynamic, and technically proficient performances.


A winner of multiple Hong Kong competitions and the HSBC Scholarship, Wong has performed globally. Her extensive concert history includes collaborations with major orchestras and solo recitals, such as “Serenity of Plucked Strings” in Hong Kong and “Muziek met Mónika” in Belgium. In 2023, she completed a cultural exchange project with Irish piper Mark Redmond, supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, giving concerts and workshops in Hong Kong and Universities in Ireland.


Wong has been invited to perform at prestigious international events and festivals across Europe and Asia by institutions like the Confucius Institute and the Hong Kong SAR government. She has also appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and other major arts festivals. Over the years, her footprint of music could be found in Belgium, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Poland, Sweden, Taiwan, the Philippines and the U.K., coming across with artists of different art forms for projects and concerts.


Driven by a profound passion for performance and a visionary outlook on music education, Wong leverages her expertise across multiple leadership roles. A graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Kingston University, London, she serves as Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Plucked String Chinese Orchestra. She further cultivates her artistic and educational goals as a founding committee member of the Hong Kong Chinese Music Development Fund Association and a director of Arttitude Arts And Cultural Management.
