Colonel & Spit
MON COLONEL & SPIT is a Belgian artist duo formed in 2007 by Eric Bassleer (b. 1974) and Thomas Stiernon (b. 1977), who live and work in Liège. Former graffiti artists in the 1990s under the crew "ERS", they transitioned into collaborative visual art following the group's dissolution.
Their multidisciplinary practice spans drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics, often brought together in immersive installations. Their work draws on everyday life, comics, and urban culture, infused with irony, humor, and playful irreverence. Through this lens, they reassemble fragments of pop culture and personal memory, offering a self-aware and subtly critical reflection on society.
Their work has been featured in institutional exhibitions such as En piste! (Musée de la Boverie, 2023), Reload (MIMA Museum, Brussels, 2022), and LepidoptERA (BPS22, 2017). It is held in collections including FRAC Picardie (FR), MIMA Museum (BE), Province de Liège (BE), and the Royal Belgian Family.
